Oakton Coins & Collectibles is located at 4547 Oakton Street in Skokie, Illinois. We are on the south side of Oakton Street, near Kenton Avenue, about two blocks east of Skokie Boulevard.
What Are the Main Cross Streets?
We are located on Oakton Street near Kenton Avenue. Kenton is one of the “K streets” found on the northwest side of Chicago and in nearby suburbs. If Kenton is not familiar to you, the easier landmark is usually Skokie Boulevard.
Oakton Coins is approximately two blocks east of Skokie Boulevard. We are also a few blocks west of Crawford Avenue.
If you are coming from Chicago, the street names may be more familiar under different names. Cicero Avenue continues north as Skokie Boulevard, while Pulaski Road continues north as Crawford Avenue. These are essentially the same major north-south corridors even though the names change as you move between Chicago and the suburbs.
What Landmarks Are Near Oakton Coins?
A very easy landmark is Sherwin-Williams, which is directly across Oakton Street from us. Oakton Park is also very close to the shop, and there is a medical building next door.
If you are driving along Oakton and see Sherwin-Williams, you are essentially there. Oakton Coins is on the south side of the street.
Coming From Evanston
If you are coming from Evanston, you are generally heading west toward Skokie. There are several streets that will get you in our direction, but many customers simply use Oakton Street because it leads directly toward the shop.
Once you are on Oakton heading west, continue into Skokie toward Kenton Avenue. We are before you reach Skokie Boulevard.
Coming From Rogers Park or the North Side of Chicago
Oakton Coins is especially easy to reach from Rogers Park and the far North Side of Chicago. Sheridan Road eventually leads into Oakton Street as you travel west toward Skokie, giving many North Side customers a fairly direct surface-street route.
If you are coming from farther south along the lakefront, Lake Shore Drive connects into the Sheridan Road corridor as you continue north. From there, you can continue toward Oakton and Skokie.
Coming From Chicago Using Cicero or Pulaski
If you are familiar with Chicago’s major north-south streets, getting to us is simple.
Cicero Avenue becomes Skokie Boulevard as you travel north. Take Cicero/Skokie Boulevard to Oakton Street, turn east, and Oakton Coins is approximately two blocks down on the south side of Oakton.
You can also take Pulaski Road north, which becomes Crawford Avenue. From Crawford, turn west onto Oakton Street and continue a few blocks toward Kenton.

Coming From the Northern Suburbs
Customers coming south from communities north of Skokie often use either Skokie Boulevard or Crawford Avenue. Both connect easily with Oakton Street.
From Skokie Boulevard, turn east onto Oakton. From Crawford, turn west onto Oakton.
Can I Take the CTA?
Yes. The CTA Yellow Line Oakton-Skokie station is located near Oakton Street and Skokie Boulevard, only a couple of blocks west of Oakton Coins.
After getting off the Yellow Line, walk east along Oakton Street toward Kenton Avenue. The shop is on the south side of Oakton.
The CTA #97 Skokie bus also travels through the area along Oakton and continues toward Old Orchard. There are stops very close to the shop.
Can I Take Uber, Lyft, or a Taxi?
Absolutely. If you are using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi, simply use 4547 Oakton Street, Skokie, IL as the destination.
We have customers use rideshare services from throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. It is an easy option if you do not want to drive, are unfamiliar with the area, or are coming from a nearby CTA station.
Is There Parking at Oakton Coins?
Yes, and the parking is free.
There is street parking directly in front of Oakton Coins on Oakton Street, with additional parking behind the building if needed.
This section of Oakton was designed differently from a typical suburban strip mall. Many of the buildings sit close to the sidewalk, with additional parking located behind them. If you are visiting for the first time, do not be concerned if you do not see a giant parking lot in front of the building.
Skokie also does not have parking meters. Customers coming from Chicago or Evanston often appreciate that. You do not need to find a meter, use a parking app, or worry about your parking time while we are evaluating your coins, jewelry, gold, silver, or other items.
Is Oakton Coins Difficult to Get To?
No. Oakton Coins is located on a major east-west street with easy access from Chicago, Evanston, Skokie, the North Shore, and surrounding suburbs.
You can drive, take the CTA Yellow Line, take the #97 Skokie bus, use Uber or Lyft, or simply follow one of the major surface streets you already know.
If you know Skokie Boulevard, Cicero Avenue, Crawford Avenue, Pulaski Road, Sheridan Road, or Oakton Street, you are already familiar with one of the main routes that leads toward us.
