Selling Jewelry in Chicago & Skokie (Gold, Silver, Estate & Scrap)

We buy all types of jewelry — from high-end designer pieces to broken gold and silver items.

Most jewelry is valued based on its precious metal content, but some pieces may carry additional value depending on brand, craftsmanship, and overall demand. Our goal is to clearly explain what you have and how it’s being evaluated so there are no surprises.

Whether you’re selling a few items or an entire collection, everything is tested and reviewed in front of you, and payment is made the same day.

What Types of Jewelry Do We Buy?

We purchase a wide range of jewelry, including gold, silver, estate pieces, and mixed or broken items. If you’re unsure what you have, you do not need to sort it in advance — we handle that here.

Gold Jewelry

Most gold jewelry is purchased based on its gold content rather than design. However, certain pieces can carry additional value depending on craftsmanship or brand.

Silver Jewelry

Silver jewelry is typically valued based on its silver content. While some pieces may have additional appeal, most fall into a straightforward weight-based category.

Broken or Scrap Jewelry

Condition does not matter when it comes to gold and silver. Broken chains, single earrings, damaged rings, and mismatched pieces are all evaluated based on metal content.

Stones are often removed and returned to you when possible.

Estate & Designer Jewelry

Some jewelry carries value beyond metal content, particularly pieces from recognized designers or well-made estate items.

These pieces are evaluated individually to determine whether they qualify for a premium over melt value.

Unsorted or Unwanted Jewelry

Many customers bring in mixed groups of jewelry — items collected over time, inherited pieces, or things that are simply no longer worn.

There is no need to separate gold from silver or determine what is valuable ahead of time. Everything is sorted and explained during the evaluation.

What Is Jewelry Actually Worth?

This is one of the most common questions we hear.

Most jewelry is not priced the same way it was sold in a retail store. In many cases, value is based primarily on the weight and purity of the gold or silver.

Online listings for individual pieces can sometimes be misleading — those prices often reflect items being sold one at a time to someone trying to complete a set, not what a full group typically sells for.

When applicable, we will always point out pieces that may carry additional value. Otherwise, pricing is based on current precious metal markets.

How the Process Works

All evaluations are done in person while you are present.

Items are tested using professional equipment to determine metal content, and everything is weighed and explained clearly. If stones are present, they are typically removed and returned to you.

There is no obligation to sell, and no appointment is needed.

Payment is made immediately if you decide to move forward.

Selling Jewelry During Life Transitions

Many people sell jewelry during periods of change — downsizing, handling an estate, or sorting through items that have accumulated over time.

These situations often involve a mix of sentimental and practical decisions. Our role is to provide clear information so you can decide what makes sense for you.

Whether it’s a few pieces or an entire collection, the process is designed to be straightforward and low-pressure.
